Chairman's ReportThanks to Brent for his excellent summary of the year's events and many thanks to him as secretary and to the rest of the committee who keep this show on the road. It's my belief, we punch above our weight as a section and as a motorcycle club – not many can boast such a full programme of club night entertainment, runs (17 this year) and eating opportunities. Long may that continue. Next year's programme is complete and looking really good. Congratulations to Sam on receiving the Hoppy Shield – he's been helping the section for several years now and coming along to events, albeit as pillion to his dad but hopefully in the future as a rider. As with most, if not all clubs, our numbers are sadly diminishing as members get older. Our events are still generally well-attended but there's room for lots more people. My appeal to you tonight is to let anyone with the vaguest interest in old bikes know we exist and get them to come along. And, as a committee, I think we need to think about some kind of publicity campaign. As always, we are open to suggestions as to how we can improve things – this year, for example, the car park concours was a bit of a non-event. How can we do things differently? Secretary's ReportBefore we start tonight I want to propose a big round of applause for all of our members that we've lost since last year. Come on, let's hear it for the lads that have gone. Last November all was deemed to be okay within the section and members seemed happy to let the committee continue for another year. The Xmas bash and auction went well. Good work from all the gang working on selling off the items, also Martin and his elves in the kitchen, great stuff everyone. Big thanks to Will for his Quiz Night, just as hard as usual, once again somehow magically producing the questions to make everyone's brain wince. Breakfast Meets and Mid-Week lunches, organised by Richard, have all been a great success. Talks were all extremely well received too. There was a good turnout for the fish and chips night. Our marvellous Newsletter from Bryan still continues and is brilliant. Well done to him and his contributors, particularly the core team of scribes. The runs this year included the Spring Run by Bryan, a lovely trot out through the villages. The Roger & Arthur King Memorial Run, with a great route by Will and the usual exemplary standards set by the King family in the catering department. Once again the Albert Brown Run almost lived up to it's title of ‘The Sunshine Run' as did the Summer Saunter, another well organised run, courtesy of Nigel and Sam. #There was a splash of rain at the end of Norm's Autumn Gold last week but as usual a lovely run and lunch. Wonderful Mid-Week Runs continue at full throttle, magnificent work by Don, setting a very high standard of route and lunch venue. Bryan's Winter Wanderings have also kept people entertained with great routes and grub throughout the colder times. Once again we thank Chris and his wife Heather for their continued sterling work in coping with the committee descending upon them at regular intervals. The tea and cakes have been first class and very much appreciated as usual. Another great year by Nigel and his son Sam, they've really pulled out all of the stops with their work on our projector, computer, archive and general IT work. Bob has finally hung up the books for the last time after many years sterling work, many thanks for that. Nigel has very kindly stepped into the breach, and all is well for another year. We'll be hearing from him for an up-to-date report on where we are financially. I'd like to thank the committee: Bryan, Martin, Chris, Nigel, Will, Don, Bob and Richard, for et another industrious year, well done. Also some of our other helpers including Sam and Brian for helping chief raffle guy and head of prizes, Chris, great work prising money from people you guys. This money pays for the hire of the hall and anything we need throughout the year so please buy a couple of tickets if you can afford it in the coming twelve months. Finally, the Hoppy Cup, this year it's awarded to our youngest member. He helps with just about everything and is undoubtedly an all-round top bloke. Sam, come on down!
