The Albert Brown Run

In 1904 Mr Albert Brown, Founder of Brown Brothers, Motor Factors provided a trophy to be presented to the winner of a 150 mile non-stop run from Redbourn to Stony Stratford and back to Redbourn. The most significant condition for entry was "that machines were to be of entirely British manufacture". Seventeen machines entered the first event in 1904 when a Mr W King, riding a King motor cycle won and Mr Brice riding a 3 hp. Brown came in 3rd. In 1905 Mr Brice, again riding a Brown machine, won the event.
